Campership Application

Pack or Troop leader,

Linked is the application for financial assistance to attend scout camp, known as camperships.

Read carefully the second page which spells out in detail the methods and conditions for this assistance.

Keep in mind that it is never acceptable for a boy to miss scout camp because of inability to pay. While this is welcome assistance for families, it is also good to remember that it is the responsibility of units to provide means for boys to earn their own way as best they can.

YIS,
Gordon

Camp Facilities Update & Information

Council Camping Chairman Dave Cotton and the Council Camping Committee are pleased to announce the following changes in Weekend Camping facilities and procedures at council reservations. These changes are being made in an effort to further support high quality unit and district programs. We believe high quality outdoor programs are an essential component of a boy's scouting experience. Kids who have fun in the outdoors stay in Scouting longer and get more benefit from Scouting. Changes include:

1. Campmasters and other staff will be utilized to further expand the weekend program opportunities available at both reservations. Effective January 1, 2007 the climbing wall at Rodney Scout Reservation will be available by advance reservation, operated by certified camp staff members, for the fee of $10.00/person/half day. Both reservations will have rifle and archery equipment and ranges available year-round for $1.00/person/day and shotgun equipment for $2.50/10 rounds. Targets and ammunition will be provided. Campmasters and other certified camp staff are available fas scheduled for use of council firearms. The ranges may also be made available, for the same fees, to units and other organizations with the appropriately certified personnel who can also provide approved firearms. As in the past, the Project COPE facilities remain available at Henson Scout Reservation. Advance reservations and all details for these program facilities can be coordinated with Leigh Wyatt, Camping Administrator.

2. A year round, 80 person meeting room is now available in Lenape Hall at Rodney Scout Reservation. This climate controlled room contains rectangular tables with chairs and restroom facilities. With lots of natural light and easy parking, this room was constructed as part of the Lenape Hall renovation last year and used as the summer camp handicraft lodge in 2006. This room is now set-up and ready for use by completing the attached form. The fee is $65.00/half day and is also available to individual units and non-scout organizations. As always, districts are allowed one camp facility use per year at no charge for district training activities.

3. Finally, the Lasher Activities Building at Henson Scout Reservation is getting kitchen facilities and bunk beds! With a kitchen addition currently under construction, the Lasher Activities Building will be available for indoor overnight camping beginning February 1, 2007. The space will be outfitted with a full kitchen including oven, beds for 32, and a dining area. With beds removed, the added kitchen will also make the building more versatile for district and other training functions. The fee for use of this building is $295.00 per weekend.

Please review the reservation form for additional details.
