Cecil Training Initiative
|
To be considered fully trained, a Cub Scout Leader must take:
- New Leader Essentials
- Position-specific training (e.g., Tiger/Wolf/Bear/Webelos or Cubmaster)
In addition, Youth Protection training is strongly recommended.
A Boy Scout Leader (Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster) must take the following to be considered fully-trained:
- New Leader Essentials
- Outdoor Leader Skills
- Boy Scout Leader training
Youth Protection training is strongly recommended.
In the table below, the Cecil District training dates are listed first,
followed by selected dates in Freedom Trail and Three Rivers, which are
located in the Wilmington/Newark/Glascow area. More information on these
dates will be added as it becomes available.

DelMarVa Mandates Training!
|
To All Unit Leaders,
Did you know that only 43% of Cecil Webelos leaders are trained in their position? Furthermore,
did you know that only 25% of Assistant Scoutmasters and 47% of Scoutmasters are considered trained
in Cecil County? If you are an untrained Webelos or Boy Scout leader, please attend one of the
training courses noted below.
For Webelos leaders:
Webelos leader training will be held at Roundtable on May 14th, 7 PM, North East United Methodist Church.
For Boy Scout Leaders (Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters):
Attend an all-day training session to be held on Saturday, June 23, 9 AM - 4 PM. Location to be determined.
Mark your calendars!!
Every Scout deserves a trained leader... and training is now MANDATORY in DelMarVa Council!

Venture Adult Leader Training

I will be holding Venture Adult Leader Training at my house in Perryville on December 1, 2007.
The address is 1616 Carpenter Point Road, Perryville, MD 21903 (easily MapQuest-able or for the more traditional,
an actual paper map will work too).
The training will begin at 10:00am and will be over by 3:00pm. Bring your lunch, I will provide sodas.
If you plan on attending, please send an email to Luke.Yackley@va.gov so I can get an idea of how many are coming.
There will be no cost, but I still need to know so that I will have enough material for everyone.
Charter turn-in date is the very next weekend so this is your last chance to get trained; a requirement for all
main leaders of each unit.
If you know other folks who need/want the training pass this message along to them. I just need to know the count.
